I'M AN ORIGINAL CATCHPHRASE

Modalities Implemented in the Program:

Many counsellors have training in a single method. Rebecca J. Webster has training in multiple modalities and is in a better position to find a method that works for each client’s unique needs. Some of these modalities include Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Archetypal, Somatic, Existential, and Cognitive-Behavioural.

Stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, confusion about identity and spiritual matters are common areas of focus for many of us, but each individual has a unique inner system so the exploration of these issues is different for every client.

Examining how we have encoded the past helps us to see how it has created the frameworks that now organize perception and experiences in the present.

How did you come to be who you are and what patterns guide your feelings and behaviour? How does your inner world and your body work together? How does your physical experience reflect your inner world? Are you living authentically with meaning and purpose? How can you understand the narrative of your life? These are some of the questions explored in counselling sessions.

Anger Management

Program Overview:

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion when you know how to express it appropriately. Anger management is about learning how to do this. The Anger Management Counselling (AMC) program focuses on learning to recognize triggers and taking action so these triggers don't run your life. The program will also help clients to explore root causes for chronic anger and emotional dysregulation.

Your Certified Anger Management Treatment Professional, (AMTP) will educated you about the underlying causes of anger and provide you with psychological tools to curve behaviour and improve the quality of your daily life and connections with others. This is done using evidence-based and clinically proven practices from the International Association of Trauma Professional’s approved material.

A certified Anger Management Treatment Professional is a professional thoroughly trained to work with complex anger management issues. Anger management professional services are not traditional psychotherapy or group counselling, they are a complex combination of insights from various psychological and meditative traditions that require additional training in anger management skills, concepts and techniques.

Frequency & Duration of Treatment:

The program is a mix of 1-on-1 private sessions with the counsellor and an online video course providing psychoeducation. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and may be once to twice weekly, as negotiated with the client. The client will also be given homework assignments to be completed between sessions.

A 2015 study by Schmucker & Losel showed that group treatment programs had no impact on recidivism and that the best results for lowering the rate of reoffence was with individual treatment.

Completion of Program:

The minimum requirement to complete the program is 6 sessions depending on the counsellor’s assessment of the client’s progress. Upon completion of the program, a Certificate of Completion and a Letter of Completion will be issued, confirming the client’s participation and progress. No client confidentially will be breached in the letter.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Program Overview:

The Individual Substance Abuse Treatment Program (ISAT) focuses on your use of drugs and alcohol. Substances can be used as a coping mechanism to help alleviate the pain and suffering from emotional issues that have not been addressed.

This counselling program will help you recognize the existence of a substance problem and the thinking to which it is tied. It will help you recover from the damage your substance use has caused in your life, as well as identify triggers and emotional dysregulation.

ISAT will guide your exploration of root causes for unhealthy substance use and provide you with psychological tools to curve behaviour and improve the quality of your daily life and connections to others.

You will be encouraged to achieve and maintain abstinence while working on underlying emotional issues and developing new healthier coping skills.
